The Mayans, whom Edgar Cayce believed were descending from Atlantis, lived in a rich culture rife with scientific knowledge. Expert engineers and astronomers, the Mayans gave the world a calendar based on cycles, in which five "ages" resulted in major cataclysms at the end of each cycle. Unlike a modern day calendar which consists of perpetual year-long cycles, the Mayan calendar has a "zero day" or end point at which time the world as we know it will cease to exist. That end date - December 21, 2012 (12/21/2012). The Mayan's primary religious text, the Popol Vuh, asserts that mankind lives in the fourth world or the fourth calendar cycle (known by the Mayans as the baktun cycle). According to the Mayans, the world was designed by Gods after three failed attempts (Mayan ancient texts describe them more as aliens from another world). The fourth attempt began on August 11, 3114 BC. When it ends, the fifth and final cycle will begin. Whether or not that fifth and final cycle includes human life is unknown. The base of the Long Count calendar begins on 0.0.0.0.0 which represents the modern day August 11, 3114 BC (as explained above, the beginning of the "fourth cycle") and ends on December 21, 2012.
Egyptian Pyramids: End-Date December 21, 2012
The ancient Egyptians, who were also thought to be descendants of the lost civilization of Atlantis, also used a calendar system and it has been discovered that the pyramids themselves served as such a purpose. Each Pyramid consists of 4 sides with approximately 91 steps on each side (4 sides x 91 steps) totaling 364 steps, including the top (final) step, there are 365 steps. The ancient Egyptians used this to track the solar year. The Egyptians also built these great pyramids to track the 26,000 year galactic orbit of the sun in which they exactly matched the pyramids with the 3 stars in the belt of orion, otherwise known as The Hunter, to signify the halfway point in the 26,000 year cycle. The most common association with the Egyptians and 2012 is that the Epyptians also used a calendar system that ends in 2012. The Egyptian calendar was known as the "calendar of stone", which is engraved in the great pyramid of Giza. It uses a "Phoenix Cycle", which follows this 26,000 year galactic orbit and ends in the present time period (not surprisingly) in the galactic alignment of 2012. In addition, December 21, 2012 the top of each pyramid along with the Sphinx of Giza will perfectly align with Orion's Belt for reasons that are still unlear. The Egyptians clearly realized the significance of this end date.

The I Ching is the world's oldest calendar system, which was created 5,000 years ago. The timeline of the infamous I Ching Oracle ends on December 21, 2012. The Chinese firmly believe that life as we know it will end at that time.

The Webbot conceptualizes a future pattern of behaviour based on the new psychological queries of the masses. As the Webbot scans the internet for mass information, it is able to predict future events based on human behaviour and its' accuracy is astonishing in predicting future events. The Webbot program has forecast that a cataclysmic event will take place on December 21, 2012.
Galactic Alignment: December 21, 2012
The Galactic Alignment is the alignment of the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator. This alignment occurs as a result of the precession of equinoxes. The Precession is caused by the earth wobbling very slowly on its axis and shifts the position of the equinoxis and solstices one degree every 71.5 years. Because the sun is one-half a degree wide, it will take the December solstice sun 36 years to precess through the galactic equator (see diagram 1 below). The precise alignment of the solstice point (the precise center point of the body of the sun as viewed from earth) with the galactic equator was calculated to occur in 1998 (Jean Meeus, Mathematical Astronomy Morsels, 1997). Thus, the Galactic alignment "zone" is 1998 +/- 18 years = 1980 - 2016. This is "era-2012". This Galactic alignment occurs only once every 26,000 years and was what the ancient Maya were pointing to with the 2012 end-date of their long count calendar.

Note: Position A is where the solstice sun was in relation to the Milky way some 3,000 years ago. Position B is 1,500 years ago. And position C is "era-2012" when the December solstice sun has converged as a result of the precession of equinoxis with the exact center-line of the Milky Way (the galactic equator).
NASA: Solar Storm & potential Ice Age - Expected Target date December 21, 2012
World renowned Astrophyscist Dr. Paul LaViolette has made scientific discoveries showing that the galactic alignment in 2012 will result in a catastrophic event, which is widely supported by leading scientists. Dr. LaViolette is warning of extreme high solar flare activity along with a galactic super wave during the alignment. Supported by Geologist Greg Braded, Dr. LaViolette discovered that there was a geomagnetic reversal linked to the 13,000 year cycle (halfway point) in which the world encountered solar flare activity so high that it resulted in a mass extinction that lasted nearly 1,000 years. Dr. LaViolette went on to say that "the intensity and declination of the earth's magnetic field underwent many variations in step with the eleven-year sunspot cycle. The amplitude of these cycles was hundreds of times larger than modern geomagnetic solar cycles", suggesting that solar flare activity during that time was also hundreds of times more intense, approaching levels found in T Taurie Stars. Dr. LaViolette says that his model predicts that the galactic core is not a blackhole, but a supermassive energy object which explodes (or beats like a heart) periodically. This pulsation sends out a wave of cosmic rays which then fills the solar system with interstellar gas, occluding sunight, and increasing solar flare activity. Dr. LaViolette builds on recent work by Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval, John Anthony West et al., and argues that the sphinx/pyramid complex, the Mayan calendar system, zodiac and the tarot, were all time capsule messages to future generations about the last time this event hit earth with catastrophic consequences, approximately 13,000 years ago.
